I've been a serial entrepreneur since I was a teenager, nineteen of those years guiding Wine Spies, through the kind of operational complexity no slide deck ever shows you, all of it held together by the proprietary platform I architected to keep the business coherent as it scaled. That's where I learned what software for a real business actually has to do.

Serving nonprofits is a deliberate part of what we build, and that conviction comes from a second vantage point I've had these last two years. From board seats in the natural and organic products world, I've watched mission-driven organizations wrestle with the same problems as any company, usually with far less to solve them with. That's where I saw how much a governed engine could do for an entire sector that has never had the means to build one for itself, and why one of the next things I build will be a nonprofit of my own.

One thing never changed across any of it: durable businesses are built on aligned authority: who decides what's true, what the organization intends, and how execution stays coherent as the system grows. The question under all of it, the one I've chased my whole career, is simple to ask and brutal to keep answering: is what you mean still what your systems do?

Holding that alignment used to be slow, deliberate work, engineered into a company by hand over years. AI collapsed the timeline, and it breaks that alignment faster than anything I've encountered. Capability expands; coherence doesn't keep up. Teams move fast but lose track of what's authoritative and what's permitted. That gap is where trust erodes, and where most AI deployments quietly fail at scale.

So I built Continuum to close the gap. It turns authoritative truth and declared intent into real, governed companies. Not a tool. Not a framework. It's built, it's operating, and it isn't for sale. What it does is build companies. Continuum Core, the engine underneath, is already powering a handful of systems, each one a proving ground and a laboratory.

Every new venture is born on the same proven engine, inheriting everything the foundry has built before it: the architecture, the governed building blocks, the back office. What stays its own is its truth and its intent, the part that makes it that field's company and no one else's. The rest is already built, so the second launches faster than the first, and the third faster than the second.

Here is why I'm doing it. I've spent my life building, and I've spent it believing in the power of teams. The right team makes something close to magic, and nothing I'm proud of was ever built alone. I've also come to know my own limits honestly: there are people with skills I will never have, and the best work I've done happened when I built alongside them. The trouble is that the right team almost never comes together. The companies that would make a real difference, the ones that make a whole field work better for the people in it, mostly never get built, because the person who understands the field is rarely the person who can build the company. Continuum closes that gap, not so I can build more companies myself, but so the people who know their domains can finally build the ones their fields have been waiting for. Done right, that leaves far more behind than any single company I could run on my own. I'm fifty-seven. Whatever I build from here, I want it to outlast me, and to leave the world a little better built than I found it. This is how.

That is why my title is Founder 1 of n. I'm the first. I won't be the last. The model is a partnership: a domain expert brings the field knowledge and the market, the forge builds the company, then runs and scales it, and we own it together. Every founder who follows comes in on exactly those terms. The n is the whole point.

The flag is planted, the mission is declared, and I'm not carrying it alone.
